Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation moots metro rail project for Visakhapatnam

VISAKHAPATNAM: Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) commissioner MV Satyannarayana on Thursday directed additional commissioner (projects) B Nagendra Kumar to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) on the metro rail project in the city on public private partnership mode. 

The civic chief reviewed the progress of various projects with officials and told Kumar to prepare the DPR according to the guidelines in the Metro Rail policy set by the Centre in January this year. Visakhapatnam city deserves a project on the lines of Kochi and Bhopal, he said.
