Miraculous escape for tourists as plane crashes in Nepal

A Nepal Airlines Aircraft carrying 19 people including an infant had a miraculous escape when it fell into a river near Jomsom along the Tibet border this morning.

Reports received from Jomsom said the Twin otter that took off from Pokhara city in the morning lost its balance when it was going to land at the airport, and fell by the river side close by.

There were ten Japanese, and nine Nepalese including the crew members, officials confirmed.

Preliminary reports suggested that at least half a dozen passengers including the pilot have been wounded, and they are ferried to Pokhara for necessary treatment.
